Ushijima doesn’t know how to love, an article reads, it mentions his stoic persona and how he never looks at women who try to get his attention. It’s not a problem for Ushijima, he’ll take those types of comments on his chin as always. Though, his brow does furrow. He rereads the title, just making sure that this article was supposed to be about volleyball and not his personal life.
He closes the magazine with a sigh and places it on the table. There is someone Ushijima likes a lot, he can’t say if it’s love but Tendou told him he’s ‘pining hard’. He had to search on Bing what that meant, and he came to agree with it. The subject of Ushijima’s pining is one Sakusa Kiyoomi. They’ve known each other since middle school, they talked briefly about cleanliness and somehow came out as friends. Ushijima can’t pinpoint the exact moment when friendship became pining for him.
A lot of people say that they’re alike. Sakusa is considered to be aloof and cold to most but Ushijima doesn’t see that. He’s warm, clean and likes volleyball a lot, that’s enough for Ushijima. It’s nice to be able to talk about volleyball without the person listening zoning out; Sakusa listens easily and he’s talked a lot about volleyball over the years. Ushijima really likes Sakusa. He just doesn’t know how to express that and he’s scared of rejection, of Sakusa pushing him away.

Wedding planning is fun, Tendou loves everything about it, the build-up to the big day. Tendou picks Semi as his best man and Ushijima picks Reon. As the day rolls around and the minutes tick away, Tendou can’t stop grinning. He fusses as Semi fixes his tie. “Jesus, stay still .”
“Sorry! I’m just excited.”
“I know, you’ve been saying that ever since Wakatoshi proposed to you. How do you think he’s doing?”
“Toshi will be fine. Have you ever seen him? He’s a lot calmer than me. At the very least, he won’t be jumping around and driving Reon crazy like I am with you.”
Semi hums, finishing up with Tendou’s tie. “You’re not crazy. I bet Wakatoshi is just as excited for today, he just shows his emotions differently.”
“He’s wonderful. I don’t mind how he shows his feelings. I want to get out there and recite my vows.”
